Vancouver Dog Treats: Gotu Kola

Vancouver Dog Treats: Gotu Kola

Gotu Kola is one of the most revered herbs in Chinese and ayurvedic medicine. The herb has been used for 3000 years to treat mental disorders, immune system deficiencies, skin conditions, circulatory problems, liver ailments, epilepsy, asthma, bronchitis, hair loss, inflammation, and intestinal disorders. It is even recognized in Western medicine to have medicinal properties.

According to a more recent study, by Standard Process in Palmyra Wisconsin, the triterpenes in gotu kola support existing collagen cells and support the regular synthesis of collagen in the skin and vein walls.

This herb can be great for older dogs with skin conditions, dogs with allergies and itchy skin or dogs who have been through a recent surgery. Gotu Kola can also aid in joint care, stress, insomnia and liver conditions.
